Please read this page before booking and arriving for your first fitting appointment.  I will be happy to answer any additional questions you may have, all you need to do is email me or call.

For The Bride.......

What do I need to bring for my initial fitting?
Bring your dress, the shoes you plan to wear and any undergarments you will be wearing with the garment.  I do have long line corset bras and bra cups on hand as well.  PLEASE do not make an appointment UNTIL you have your dress, if you have special ordered it.

How far in advance should I book my first fitting?

Most brides will book 2-4 months in advance. During the peak (spring/fall) wedding season, I usually have a  month of solid bookings for fittings and final alterations. I will do my best to get you into my schedule. First Bridal appointments are 45 minutes, all others are 1/2 hour appointments, for first fittings. Again, don't book a fitting UNTIL you have your dress.

Can I bring others to my fittings to see me in my dress?

When you come for your 1st fitting, you are welcome to bring one (1) other person.  I have seen the 'entourage situations" many times.  Although it may seem like a great idea and it may make your mom and 3 sisters and 6 friends happy, but it almost always backfires into a very stressful situation.  TOO many opinions create an uncomfortable atmosphere.   I also have limited space in my fitting room and it will get very crowded.  Also please, no  small children under the age of 10. Dress fittings are not a good place for kids, and not a place for running  and playing,  UNLESS I am fitting the child's dress.    Do yourself a favor and let your dress altering decisions be up to you and myself, your seamstress.  AND really, wouldn't you rather have your friends see you in your dress at your wedding?  For more examples and explanation click here.

How many fittings do brides need?
The average is three. It depends on the work, and what I have to do to your gown!  Don't worry, I was a bride too!  If I'm working on a bustle or just pressing, then it's usually a single fitting and a pick up appointment

 What if I lose weight?

You need to be at the size and weight you want to be for your wedding, before I will start any alteration work on your dress.   It's understandable to want to look beautiful in your gown.  If it's altered to fit properly you will be stunning. You should remember, most dresses will need to be altered, if at the least a bustle and pressing.

If your dress has been started and you gain or lose when you return for your next fiting, and it’s needs to be re-altered, there will be additional charges.  Talk to me about this, I'm your partner in this process,  to make you look the way you want to look - your very best!  Please tell me if you are losing, pregnant or have a health issue that will cause your weight to change.

Do you alter 'pre-worn' wedding dresses?
Many brides saves hundreds sometimes thousands of dollars when they find their dress on e-bay or from a second hand source. This is fine as long as the material is there to make the garment fit you. Remember, even though the used dress has a size, it was probably altered to fit someone else.

Can you remake or re-create my Mom's dress into something I will love to wear?

Lots of times, yes!  Schedule a consultation with me. Bring the dress and your ideas and we can discuss!

Do you sell or make veils?
I do have veils that I sell.  I also can make special veils, please ask me.
